Tree-jack testing
Toll Group's website was originally designed without scalability, leading to inconsistencies in structure and navigation due to quick fixes during development.
We talked to the stakeholders to see how we could simplify their content creation process and tested the current navigation with tree-jack to find the best setup for the content-heavy site.

MAIN PAIN POINTS
high impact
No consistent navigation.
The navigation had two menus piled on top of each other, lacking a clear structure and not optimised for mobile.
high impact
High lead times for new content.
The websites pages were built without a system or templates in place creating a long process when they needed to create new content.
medium impact
Lacking cohesive design.
As new content pages were being developed, branding became less consistent since they didn’t have any design resources for web projects.

Design review sessions
During our design process, we concentrated on organising and wireframing the key components and pages we needed.
We used an atomic design approach to create design tokens, 10 global components, 15 page sections, and 15 page templates.
We held design reviews with key stakeholders at each stage to ensure our system was scalable for the website.

solution
Scalable global navigation.
Tried and tested navigation for both desktop and mobile, so customers can easily find what they need.
Systemised page templates.
Using systematically designed page sections and page templates you can easily use an already created template or create your own.
Cohesive brand vision.
Having a scalable system, branding will stay cohesive as more content is added to the website.
